The wolf will soon be another extinct species if we don´t stop the killing of these beautiful animals, just because some people think they are evil and dangerous.But that's all wrong. We are more dangerous to them than they ever will be to us. They have much more to be afraid about than we do. The wolf is a very shy animal.They wish us no harm. All they want is to live in peace and harmony with mother earth, just like all living creatures do. The only kill what they need to eat
Unfortunately there are many generations of children that have got their picture of the wolf through old stories like "The little red Riding Hood", "3 little pigs". And many more of those old fairytales.

Even back in the old days 500 B.C people could read and hear wild and scary stories about the wolves. Back in Europe in the sixteenth century, people considered lonely wolves to be humans transformed to werewolf's. And over 30,000 people were burned to death or skinned alive. The history tells us that people willingly hang on to those conceptions that they have been thought as a child. And even to day we
still noise about the evilness of the wolf, even though it's in a little milder way. But the most typical sign of a wolf is shyness. The wolf is more afraid of you
than you are of him.

A full grown up speciment of the Scandinavian wolves have an averge weight of 43 kilo for the grown up male and 34 kilo for the female. Their looks, primary colour is greyish-yeallow, with a filling of reddish-brown and black. But in north America it various from black to white. Next to man this predator has the biggest natural spreading on the north side of the hemisphere. The breeding takes place in February-Mars, the female wolf can have 1-6 puppies after 62-63 days of pregnancy. In Sweden my home country, the wolf were almost totally exterminated back in the 60´s. But in 1966 the wolf got placed under the protection of the law. And to day there are about 67-80 wolves in the Scandinavian peninsula, Sweden and Norway. And the number is fortunately increasing.

The wolf is a very reserved animal, the most typical sign of the wolves is shyness. They are more afraid of you than you are of them and they wish you no harm. Just to be left in peace. A wolf never kills more than it needs...
